A journey of Dieta kettles and their development

In this month we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our Dietatec kettle factory. What would be a greater way than recall back in time to the nearly 30-year history of Dieta kettles...

1st Dieta kettles

It was the year 1993, when everything started from a Dieta Mixer kettle. Dieta Oy was established by a team of professionals with a long experience in the commercial kitchen industry. The founders built a team that designed the Dieta kettle, built facilities for kettle production, manufactured the first kettle, and finally started the sales of Dieta Mixer kettles.

E and EM kettles

2nd Generation of Dieta kettles introduced Dieta E kettles without mixer and Dieta EM kettles with a rotating mixer head.
At this time, the control of cooking was made with turning knobs. Both kettles had a digital display showing selected jacket temperature by one-degree precision. The mixer had forward and auto-reverse modes with five different speed settings from 20 to 125 rpm – one speed setting with a pause. The kettle chilling was also already available in Dieta E kettles – we are one of the pioneers in Cook&Chill with mixer kettles.

Simplified L-kettles

For basic applications, we in Dieta also developed light L-kettle series. These kettles were equipped with minimal features – Heating was on/off, water came from the manual faucet at kettle leg, and the kettle had a tilting function – something that has been standard for all Dieta kettles always.

New generation - Dieta EX/EXM kettles

Dieta EX kettles introduced improved control features with an option to save own cooking programs in the kettle memory and make a delayed start of cooking. This enables kitchen professionals to schedule the first batches the night before. So the food was ready right from the morning when they started to work.

The Dieta Maxer

Dieta Maxer was a change for kettle construction as well as for the control system. The mixer head was included in the kettle body and had a full range of mixer speeds and modes. The kettle also allowed control of cooking by measuring the actual temperature of food produced. This feature is still one of the most significant features in mixer kettles – reducing energy consumption and improving cooking results. It should be mandatory for everybody when they get a new kettle.

Freestanding Dieta Premier

Then it was time again for another Dieta’s innovation that has come to a standard in professional kitchens. Dieta Premier kettles were designed to be freestanding units – instead of the industry standard to bolt mixer kettle into the floor.
Also, Premier kettles had another significant change when the overhead mixer was replaced with a built-in bottom mixer. In Dieta kettles, the shaft of the bottom mixer was designed so that there are no gaskets in the food area.

Dieta Premier X

We also introduced the first touch screen mixer kettle Premier X with Premier kettle. The touchscreen controller enabled you to build your own program memory to the kettle, record and view your HACCP data from cooking, etc.

Dieta Mixing tool

When you thought that this was enough innovations to professional kitchens, we introduced the 3-part mixer tool. The parts are easy to attach and detach, even while ingredients are in the kettle. The standard mixing tool can be swapped out for special tools, opening up opportunities for different recipes.
The cleverly designed Dieta Mixing tool is the key to achieving the best results: it ensures good consistency, an even temperature, and maintains the food's texture.

MI-MX with integrated scale

Our innovations continued with Dieta MI-MX, the first to introduce an icon-based 7” touch screen controller. Though the modern user interface wasn’t the most significant in MI-MX kettles, the intelligent and unique feature was an integrated weighing. Now the kettle functioned also as a scale – removing the need to measure ingredients separately during cooking and measuring the ready food when emptying the kettle.

Dieta Soupper

Alongside the MI-MX, our offering also had our mainstream Soupper kettles and Celer base kettles. Dieta Soupper kettles also later introduced a gas-heated version with indirect heating. The Soupper gas heating represents the latest technology in professional kettles. The heat exchanger with a pre-mixed burner is built-in to the steam generator integrated into the kettle vessel. With modulating gas burner and indirect heating the kettle offers high energy efficiency and rapid boiling times.
