In April 2020, a 150-liter model of the Dieta Genier multi-functional kettle was delivered to the cooking unit of Pirkanmaa Voimia Oy's Hatanpää hospital for a pilot project.

Our product testing includes consulting different professionals and chefs extensively from the planning phase onward. The trial phase tests the kettle's performance under practical conditions and identifies anything that needs fine-tuning to improve its functionality in everyday operations.

The kitchen of the Hatanpää hospital is truly a multi-functional kitchen. The kitchen prepares hundreds of recipes and produces 330,000 meals for various monthly needs, including children and young people, housing services, patients, and personnel. The cooking methods are also very versatile and include the parallel use of Cook & Chill and Cook & Hold methods. We interviewed three users, Eija Perälä, Meri Sutskov, and Tuija Dahan, about their experiences with the Dieta Genier kettle during the piloting phase.

The kettle heats up and cools down fast.

In the beginning, the users had to get used to the kettle, but the more they used it, the more they grew to like it. The chefs praise the kettle's ability to heat up and cool down fast. The kettle's controller is ergonomically well placed, and due to its large display, the necessary information is easily visible from a distance. Once the users got familiar with the panel's logic, adjusting different functions, such as temperature and mixing speed, was easy.

As it has three parts, the kettle’s mixing tool is easy to handle. The tool fits nicely in the dishwasher, as it can be taken apart. The mixing tool gets praise for mixing the food mass even from the bottom of the kettle, ensuring the consistency of the final product.

I like it more and more every day!

The foot pedal of the kettle has only been used a few times, which may partly be due to the recipes being prepared. In certain situations, when both hands are full, the foot pedal has been helpful. People have also been happy about the set height for tilting and emptying the kettle. This makes it easier to get food out of the kettle, in comparison to the previous models.

The brushes on the Dieta kettle washing tools are efficient and make washing easier. The unit tends to be so busy during the weekdays that there is usually only time for the shortest washing program before the kettle needs to be used again. Sometimes, the kettle goes through a more extended washing program during a weekend.

A few issues discovered during the piloting needed some fine-tuning, which were then inspected and improved. Dieta Genier gets an overall grade of A regardless. “I like it more and more every day,” says Tuija Dahan.

Due to its three parts, the kettle’s mixing tool is light to handle.
