Production Manager Harri Tanttu has kept up with Dieta since 1994

Harri_114x855-1Harri Tanttu is Dietatec's Production Manager and one of the company's longest-serving employees. Harri has been involved in building products from Dieta's prototypes, seen the company's rapid growth, and kept up with the winds of change.
After a nearly 28-year-long journey, Harri says he hasn't seen many days that are alike at Dieta. The secret to a long career and meaningful work is variety, exciting opportunities, and a team that works together.

Opportunities have led the way

Harri joined Dieta as an electrician in 1994, when the prototypes of Dieta's first products were completed, and production started. At the time, Harri had only one colleague in production. As the company's growth gathered pace and the production staff began to increase, Harri's role evolved with it: the job description expanded, first to include maintenance of the electrical equipment warehouse, then to include less hands-on installation work, replaced by supervisory tasks and technical maintenance support. The trend has always been forward.

Harri has now been working as a production manager for five years and has ten colleagues on the production side. Harri has overall responsibility for production. He plans and makes sure that everything works as it should. No two days are the same, which makes the job so enjoyable. "Every morning, I do the first round, and that's where the day starts. There's no real routine, which adds a nice variety and challenge to the day - there are no boring days here!" Harri says.

Highlights, big changes, and personal moments of significance

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Dietatec's kettle factory and Dieta's 28th anniversary. Harri recalls the milestones and memorable events over the years: "Particularly memorable events have been the founding and separation of Dietatec's kettle factory from Dieta 10 years ago and the change of Dieta's original owners in 2015. Of course, personal moments of significance, such as changes in the job description and career advancement, have also stood out. All have brought with them some form of change".

Growth and development at Dieta have been rapid, despite significant changes. Being a pioneer has always been integral to Dieta and its products, and the same approach continues today. When Harri looks to the future, it looks bright. Over the years, the standards of the products have risen considerably, and the company has more than kept pace with the development. The signs are that the positive trend will continue in the future.

"Dieta's kettles are great. Every few years, our products have evolved, and a new generation of kettles has come along. The wishes of retailers and end-users are considered in the development process, and we actively ask for them. This growth is also reflected in the increased number of dealers," Harri comments.

Long-term contracts are a sign of the right direction

Harri is by no means the only one who has stayed with Dieta for a long time. Recently, the same production-side colleague with whom Harri started his journey at Dieta retired. On the production side, a few other people also started a few years after Harri. So what about Dietatec makes it so unique that people stay there for a long time?

"Dieta has always had a good team of workers, where no one is left alone. We have a very professional staff, and responsibility is taken collectively and personally - a shared desire to do quality work. On top of that, Dieta, and now Dietatec, has been a nice, safe and reliable place to work, and it has offered interesting opportunities to grasp on," says Harri.
